I had a spare P-bass base plate...this was a great opportunity to salvage a nice chunk of hardware

The saddles and its height adjustment screws were fine; however, the screws that pass through the tension spring need to be longer. With the screws provided I could not set the correct intonation on 2 strings. The intonation was flat, so the saddles needed to move toward the nut to "shorten" the string length. But with short screws, they would disengage from the saddle. The fix was to retrieve and reinstall the old screws (longer) from the original set of saddles I removed earlier. The experience was frustrating.
