Overall, I am pleased with this filter assembly. I am using it on my John Deere tractor as a pre filter as the original one is a little small and requires frequent cleaning. This filter is well made, and the mount is nice and sturdy. I like the banjo fittings as they made finding a mounting location easier as I was able to easily position the fittings for the fuel lines where I needed them, without worrying about leaking. For my needs the price was nice also. I would buy this filter assembly again. 5 STARS

I obtained this separator assembly for the purpose of polishing some fuel oil I had stored in a drum. I didn't need to make the fuel perfect, just needed to remove the water so the fuel could be safely burned in an oil furnace. This worked well for that. Overall this is a mediocre copy of a Racor filter / separator. The finish work on the casting isn't great. There are still burrs on the machined surfaces, leading to the filter nut O-ring getting crushed and cut, so that had to be worked out. The included hose fittings do not seal properly with the included hose, even when a hose clamp is used. It took a lot of tinkering to get this to work properly without sucking air on the suction side and getting the filter cap to seal. Once I got the issues sorted out this filter setup worked quite well for removing water and tank gunk. But, because of the amount of tinkering needed to make this work, I do not think this filter setup is adequate in applications where proper operation is critical (boating, emergency generator, etc). For transfer filtering and polishing, this does work quite well when it's working properly.
