I bought these a few months ago and tested them right when I got them- they worked great. I put them back in the box and kept them stored in the closet for a couple months. I went to put them on today and the lights didn’t work. I tried changing the batteries on the lights: nothing. I tried changing the battery on the remote and the flimsy plastic battery holder snapped, which meant the battery got stuck inside. Don’t know if it was the lights or the remote or all of the above that weren’t working.

I'd have to say, if these came with better adhesive they'd absolutely be a 5 star rating. The batteries last much longer than I'd expected them to. They are definitely bright enough to illuminate the floor of our boat. Like other products using a multicolor/function remote, it can be challenging to get them all synced up. (Sometimes one will shut off, while another one or two turn on). However, I noticed that when I'm in closer range to the one(s) I'm trying to control, it's more effective. You can purchase other brands with this type of controller and they will work together, which is a plus. I'd suggest the 3M Heavy Duty plastic velcro adhesive squares for long lasting adhesion.

The adhesive on these just isn’t it. Not for the Texas heat anyway. The lights are fantastic and work well with the remote but I wouldn’t call them water-friendly. And they stick out pretty far- these things are probably an inch and a half thick if not more. You’d likely need several sets to cast the kind of light you’re picturing.
