I think this is a great product. Really liked the tinned wire because I always go in the salt water and so tired of replacing the tail lights!! Now just bought some other tinned wire to go from front of trailer back to light the license plate to use the old light assembly. Everything there to get these mounted on the PVC poles.

As the headline states, these are nice,well-constructed trailer guide lights. My only complaint is the manufacturer crams the wiring into kind of a ball and stuffs it into the end of the light housing. This only makes sense if it is trying to save a couple of bucks by allowing for a smaller shipping box. If you like unraveling a rat's nest of crinkled wires that you then have to try and feed down your guide posts, you are in luck.

I've got some existing 2" post lights, and the wire terminations I make keep corroding, primarily because the wire on my existing post lights is not tinned.I ordered these new post lights from Wave One to upgrade during the fishing off-season in a few months. Upon opening, I'm impressed so far. The cable conductors are all tinned, which is crucial for use in saltwater (my only use). The kit comes with a few screws, 6 heat-shrink connectors, and some zip ties.My boat trailer isn't very long, so I intend to install new wire from the trailer tongue to the lights. My plan is to pull the wire from the tongue all the way to the top of the post light (this doesn't get submerged when I launch my boat). The heat-shrink connectors help extend the life of the termination, but eventually they get brittle and let moisture in, so that's why I'm pulling cable to the top of the post light. I also intend to install a dedicated frame ground wire from the post light to the trailer tongue to avoid having to drill a hole and compromise the galvanized coating on the steel frame.

My boat trailer came with the side vertical pipes but only had a small reflective sticker on them. The lights on the trailer are also really low and close to the ground. This becomes an issue because the trailer is parked in a the yard and every time it rains, dirt gets splatter up and coats the lights with a layer of mud. I like to head to the lake well before dawn so visible lights are definitely needed. I was always needing to stop by the house and hose them off before hitting the road. That's when I noticed a buddy's trailer had lights on top of the two guide pipes. That when I decided to get these to add on. They were easy to add on and the wires were plenty long enough to reach the wiring for the stock tail lights. I just tapped into them and because these use LED's they don't draw much more power than the stock lights. My trailer is now very visible at night even if I forget to hose off the other tail lights.

If you love to fish but struggle with backing a boat trailer straight, the upright 2-piece boat trailer guidepost LED pole light set is the upgrade you need. These DOT/SAE-approved 12v PVC pipe taillights are waterproof (IP67 sealed) and submersible, functioning as turn signal and brake lights. With an LED design featuring marine tinned wiring, these lights emit a bright red glow for braking, turning, running, and, for those like me, they serve as guidepost lights to assist in backing up.Installation was straightforward; however, you will need to have or install them on common 2" PVC guideposts. This guidepost light set includes all the necessary hardware: stainless screws, heat shrink connectors, and plastic wire ties for easy installation. Keep in mind that the lights come with 10 feet of marine tinned wire and are designed to connect to existing trailer wiring in case you need more wire. These lights have three wire hookups: white for ground, red for brake/turn, and black for running lights. This set allowed me to easily upgrade and raise my trailer lights above the water level, making them visible for guidance when maneuvering my trailer in both day and night conditions. Unlike other lights I've tried, these 12v red lights are bright and clearly indicate turning, running, and braking actions.I appreciate that the company is a family-owned business based in Florida, and their products are designed to last, tested in both fresh and saltwater conditions. When I had questions about installing the PVC pipes—since my trailer didn't have any preinstalled—I received excellent tech support. They assist with design and installation on a daily basis, and their products come with a no-hassle warranty and a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Before you reach out for support, I recommend watching the product video at least once for detailed installation information and demonstrations.
