These dowels are smaller than 1/4 inch. Started with a 1/4 inch bit but the dowel was too loose in the hole. Switched to a 7/32 bit and that was just right.Also had two of the dowels break when driving them with a rubber mallet.Consensus is these are OK dowels when precision is not essential.

These are awful. They break very easily. If you need pellets of compressed sawdust in a variety of sizes, you might like these.
