If you have a VERY light need for a VERY low-priority/security closure, this might be fine. For any real, real-life closures, these are likely MUCH too weak for what you need.

They work just fine. Comes with round plates not square like in the picture, I don't mind as I didnt end up using them.

Bought these for a larger door that opens to our hvac unit (30x52, 3/4” thick solid wood). The washer will stick strongly to the magnet when neither are attached to anything. But, once we installed it, the magnet would not stay stuck to the included washer. My husband even tried using larger washers (to no avail). The magnet mechanism appears to function well. It wasn’t difficult to install either. It just didn’t keep the door closed. We returned them.

The order was missing counter plates and the replacement order was missing that too. Ended up returning and waste of time.
