I bought this fork less then a month ago and it worked great for the roads and gravel trails, but the first time I went out to a MTB trail the through shaft broke.0/5 Would not recommend.

Honestly I was skeptical at first but trying to build a bike on a budget so I gave this a try and I'm very impressed with it so far does great on trails and jumps not the lightest fork almost 9 pounds but it's big I only had one issue with it one of the screws for the top crown plate was too short and only grabbed two threads it stripped but ace hardware had one same size thread but longer it worked perfect honestly I'm happy with my purchase all the functions work like they should

I'm pleasantly surprised with this fork. For being a budget model, the small bump sensitivity and ride quality is phenominal. Seems fairly stiff as well, with very little torsional flex under heavy front braking. The rebound adjust provides a meaningful range between pogo stick and 'molasses' and everything in between. Had no issue getting it dialed in. Would like to see some compression adjustment though. The lockout works well, though I feel it would be better served by an on-off switch, rather than a click indexed range. The lockout seems to work like a once way valve, allowing decompression, but stopping further compression.I do, however, wish that the fork included some QOL such as a user manual with torque specs, min/max markings on the crown, pressure specs for the air spring, or suggestions for service intervals/oils/replacement parts/etc.My fork didn't include an upper bearing race, or a suitable top cap. I had to rummage through my parts bin to find something that would work.As others have mentioned, I had about 5-8ml of oil/thin grease come out when adjusting the air pressure. I'd definitely recommend sorting that before attaching a shock pump to it.Measured travel was at approx. 195mm from top of stroke to bottom-out. Quite a bit more than the specs on the product page indicated. I think that might be a listing error?Clearance wise, it was a snug fit for my 27.5x2.6" tire at the bottom of the stroke, with approx. 8mm of clearance between the top of the tire and the lower crown of the fork. It should be able to fit 26" of any size, most 27.5", but clearance for 29" tires would be trying, and would very much be on a case-by-case basis.I also noted some shipping damage on the rear of the lower crown. It's minor and purely cosmetic, but regardless, I'd like to see some improvement there.Overall, I'm happy with it. I think it's a great value. But want to see more of a focus on critical components included with the fork such as bearing races, a top cap, and better documentation. I'd rather have parts and information needed to install the fork rather than tertiary items like a water bottle or grips.

Got these for a high-performance e-bike build, a 5.5kW CYC X1 powered Canyon Nerve. I owned original Manitou Dorado forks on my Kuberg FreeRider and loved them. These Bolany forks are great for the price. Stable and solid, progressive, and good adjustability. One downside: When I opened the air cap on the bottom to fill with more air, damping oil leaked down out of the hole. This could've been disastrous if it touched the brakes. Luckily it didn't. Just be careful when adding air.
