I inherited my dad's extensive collection of Bolo Ties. The problem? Well most of them are over 75 years old and were in need of some TLC. These End Caps take care of the problem of missing or bent, split or otherwise problematic. They were easy to put on the leather strings and they don't look out of place. I know these end caps will work well for making Bolo Ties. They are a nice weight which will keep the strings laying flat.Overall I am extremely please with the quality of these end caps. I was able to repair some of my dad's ties, so now i will continue repairing the rest.

If only they weren't oversized to the point of disproportionately clunky and heavy. They are WAY bigger than any other bolo tips I've ever seen before. I just hated the way they made even the (focal) ornamental slides look almost smaller than the focal point. Why a person ever thought to make bolo tie tips look so ridiculous, I will never know. And don't expect to find any bolo tie tips from China-based companies that are any different from these. They're all manufactured by the same company, so they will all look identical to these. I returned these, and another batch like these only with an ugly, dull finish, in the trash. These are the only kind you can find on Amazon, and I rate them one star, because that the lowest rating I can give themBy the way, I have bought a few finished bolo ties on Amazon that have very similar tips, but which are smaller and more properly proportioned, but try buying packages of just the tips in a normal size --nowhere to be found!

The description says these are "made of premium alloy". An alloy can be a number of different combinations of metals. Some alloys may include magnetic metals like iron but these do not have any magnetic metal in them. So the metals are premium. They are strong and do not bend.I have not used these before so it will be my first experience in making boho ties.I highly recommend these for the good quality and strength.
