Wanted to be able to run Bome MIDI Translate without having to involve my PC, and this device does that. It is pricey, but you are really getting a headless computer, an internet router, and a MIDI interface all in one unit for the price, so I can't complain to much. Also of note: I have a DIY Deftaudio 5x5 MIDI interface that I am using with this to provide more I/O, plugged into the MIDI USB Host Port.

Takes some tinkering but awesome way to use midi controllers without a laptop, among other qualities.Friendly tip, Save yourself the trouble and rename the BomeBox network before you route anything.

Returned my unit because the things I wanted to do required additional paid licenses from Bome. Seriously? The unit is already $250.Replaced with a competitor product with extensive Midi capability and no additional licenses required.

This box exceeded my wildest expectations. I managed to write translators for all my gear and make everything work EXACTLY how I wanted within a day. The software is stable and the documentation is excellent. This box was truly the "missing link" in my studio.Ten out of ten.
