Your cart is empty. One of the most popular tomatoes grown in the U.S., Better Boy is also one of Bonnie’s all-time best sellers. It’s no wonder, either, as plants produce lots of large, smooth-skinned red fruits bursting with classic tomato flavor. Perfect for slicing! This plant performs well in many areas of the country. Vines will grow tall, so be sure to stake or cage plants for support.

I probably would really like these plants..they are the correct size and type...but you delivered them in 20 degree weather and left them on the porch in the snow...and the package clearly says keep above 32 degrees...I know we have no control of the weather but can we have control over the reading ability o delivery people...the plants are all dead from the outside going to the middle.

When received already had brown leaves on 3 of them. Planted in good soil but not doing well.

I got 4 plants. Ordered May 2nd. Arrived May 8th. All arrived healthy looking. I watered them and handed them off for a week and planted May16th. One shriveled and died immediately. 3 lived. All get the same sun, food and water, they are in the same raised bed. One is 50% smaller and has no fruit yet. Probably won't get any. The other two are vigorous but no fruit set until September. It's now September 19th and I got 3 tomatoes on the 16th, one today and there are a few more coming on. They are small and green yet. I hope they mature and ripen before our first frost which sually happens mid October, but I don't think so. The fruit is smallish. About salad tomato size. However, the tomatoes I have picked so far are DELICIOUS, They are dense, meaty, sweet and juicy. Not a lot of tomato slime around the tiny seeds. I wish they would have set fruit earlier. Not a great investment for the money, time and water, but what I did get was good so far. I'll let you know more as the season closes.

These tomato plants came in perfect condition. They were delivered May 30, and the 4 plants were in plastic cups that were packed in 2 plastic containers that held 2 plants each . They were securely packed in a box. It is June 12 and the plants are healthy and growing well after planting in pots. They have tripled in size and are growing in tomato cages. I live in Florida, so I have them in a shade cloth covered space. Bonnie plants does a great job shipping and send nice quality plants.

They were packaged was great. Lost the outer leaves due to transplant shock (to be expected). Trimmed them up after a weak and they are growing nicely.

I've been growing home-started and small home garden heirloom tomatoes for a couple of decades. But I got behind schedule this year (injuries), so I ordered 4 Cherokee Purple seedlings. They arrived in perfect condition. That is because the arrived in rigid (nearly form-fitting) plastic protectors which were further surrounded in bubble wrap. Not a single leaf was damaged. The stems were thick, the leaves green and large, and the roots were spread well without being compacted. I expect excellent growth and production this year from them.Well worth the price/plant in exchange for supremely tasty tomatoes late this Summer!

2023 Update: As last year's Celebrity plants did spectacularly well, with more disease resistance than I seen in any other variety ever, I bought again when they went on sale. One thing I forgot to mention in the 2022 review is that when they go on sale, it's because the plants are getting too big for the shipping containers. Which means your plants will be a bit bent when you get them. They will straighten out and be just fine, but you can encourage them gently to straighten up. This will have ZERO effect on productivity. Even a broken branch won't slow them down much. A broken leader would delay fruiting but they will grow from a node and be just fine. (I had severe damage to my tomato plants in a storm a few years ago, all produced in the end so I do have experience with damaged plants.)I did not opt to prune my Celebrity tomatoes last year, and they did sprawl on the ground at the end of the season, but less so than some of the other varieties I have tried. Despite a lack of pruning, the plants did not develop any serious issues at all. I just need to be more careful about the slugs which enjoy the environment under the leaf canopy.2022 Review: I bought Bonnie Celebrity Tomato Plants after missing the closing weekend at the local greenhouse I planned on buying from. They arrived in good shape, bigger than I expected. They are beautiful plants setting lots of tomatoes. If buying from a local grower is not an option I would recommend these Bonnie tomato plants.
