Heavy enough to hold thicker hard covers. Arrived intact and the gold paint is beautiful. They are bigger than average size hands, perfect for any bookcase.

Summary: Great quality, worth the price, and perfect for use on table top surface vs. inside a shelf.I got these bookends for my husband and they look amazing and make me smile a little every time I see them on his bedside table. They easily work for just a few books, but would likely work well for as many as 10 books or more.While they are sturdy and heavy enough, they wouldn't be able to hold very many tall and heavy books over 12" or 5 pounds.These are definitely worth the price and would make an excellent gift for book lovers.I wouldn't use them inside a shelf though if I could avoid it. Partly because you wouldn't be able to enjoy how great they look, but also because they are a little on the wider side so space would be limited.

I've always said that bookends are for quitters. However, my library has grown to where I'm putting books where ever I can, and bookends are necessary. Not to mention in a good murder mystery there needs to be a bloody bookend. These are heavy enough to get the job done, holding books or denting skulls. The antiqued finish goes well dark bookcases, and they are so very classy looking. They are priced within market norms and would make a great gift for bookaholics, new offices, house warming, and much more. You could even use one in a nefarious way, clean it, and giftwrap it before police are called. Just saying!

Attractive and well made. They're perfect for lightweight books like paperbacks, but for bigger books, you will need something heavier.
