I really like the grayish wood color of this book press. It fits my aesthetic perfectly and has a nice, simple look. That said, while I was able to assemble it by looking at the product photos, I have no idea if I put everything together correctly. As a beginner, I would have really appreciated some actual instructions, both for assembly and for how to use it properly. I am just hoping all the bolts, nuts, and washers are in the right place. There are some rubber-like corner covers that stick in place with a gel-like glue, but they are easy to remove if needed. The biggest downside for me was the cosmetic damage. The boards had some dings and scratches, mostly on the edges and around the bolt holes. It still functions fine, but I think a thin foam layer between the boards during shipping would help prevent that kind of damage.I wanted to rate this higher because I do like the piece overall, but the lack of instructions and the cosmetic damage made it a little disappointing. Hopefully, with some adjustments in packaging and a guide for beginners, this could be a fantastic book press!

Having only recently learned I can bind my own books, I suddenly realized I needed a book press also! This nice tool gets the job done. It's simple enough that even a person like me (head in the clouds, not a lot of practical experience) can understand how to use it. I like its size and sturdiness. This is a great addition to my library!

I know that this was designed as a book press, and it works great for that. I also make paper, and it works great as a paper press as well. The assembly was easy. I noticed that the product description shows putting the nut between the two boards, which would be fine for a book, but I wanted to press paper flat, so I took it apart and put the nut on the top under the cap nut, and it worked great.Putting the nut between the boards keeps the long bolts from dropping down when the boards are pressed together, but that's something I was fine with. It's such a simple design, but it worked great! The paper came out completely flat and in great shape.Using it to sew up or glue/tape the spine of a book also worked great, although I might end up making some kind of stand to hold it up on one side so it doesn't wobble. As a press itself, it worked flawlessly!

It didn’t even come with instructions, smh! Sure it’s not hard but at least put instructions in there.

I like that its pretty simple, just to panels that I can "squish" together with the help of screws on each corner. Is easy to operate, it doesn't even need instructions. It doesn't use electricity so I can have my books binding for a long time and not worry about it.The panels seem to be made of real wood and not particle board which is a big plus. It makes it very sturdy and I don't fear of braking it if I use too much force on the screws.Additionally the screws and nut seem to be of good quality and I didn't have any issues with the threads on them nor the nuts. They worked like they are supposed to.

I got this to try some book binding/junk journaling, and I think it will work great for that. Easy to set up, and feels strong.

This book press has been excellent! It’s very functional and easy to use, and the fabrication quality is quite nice. This is great for books, padding/notepad projects, and other crafts like flower pressing. It’s easy to store when not in use but also doesn’t take up the worst footprint of space when left out in a workspace. I’m thankful to have this one that replaces the one I made from wooden cutting boards.
