Exactly what I needed, these are a bit fragile by design unfortunately. I installed one previously and it mushroomed one side of the pin after a few uses, this 2 pack is a good idea since you'll probably need a spare.

My Dremel would not unlock the attachment because the old lock would not take hold. This was easy to get to and fixed the issue. I bought the 2pk so I would have and extra on hand when the new one wears do the shaft will not take any more damage.

I now see why they include two in an order. The 1st one I installed shared off as soon as I tried to use it. I took a closer look and found the barrel with a stop holes we're also worn down (see picture). To fix it, you have to replace the entire armature and bearing assembly. So, after a month of waiting, dealing with fitment issues and half the cost of the Dremel it's back to working order using the 2nd lock tab.So, do these lock tabs work? Yes. But be prepared to replace most of the Dremel's guts to get them to work. In retrospect, I should have just bought a new Dremel.

Good parts, unfortunately the Dremel is a piece of crap

Lent the Dremel out but unfortunately for me the user was not very good at holding the button down when changing bits and wore the lock away. These Bosch replacements are great and it was easy to replace the worn original and I now have a functional tool again.

These are an exact replacement for the shaft lock mechanism in the Dremel 3000 series. I’m glad I bought the 2-pack, because the collet nut was stuck so tight that after replacing the lock mechanism and reassembling, the new lock pin wore down just like the original after trying to break it loose. Thankfully I had the 2nd replacement pin to install after I used channel locks, pliers, and WD40 to get the collet locking nut broken loose! These replacement parts work great, even if this is a major design flaw in the original Dremel manufacturing.

I took a gamble as I got this for a Craftsman rotary tool and not Dremel, honestly I did not even open the tool up before I ordered but the parts all seemed to look similar.Tell you what, perfect fit. Even the video on how to swap them was for a different tool but still applied. Don’t quote me, but I would venture to say they are all about the same.I did not use my tool all that much to where I feel it should have needed the part replaced, but I do often over-tighten. Either way, it was a very easy fix. I did not totally disassemble, just lifted the inners enough to swap out. I would probably get a few on standby though if you use it often as they probably won’t last. The picture is of my old one so you can see they are identical.
