The multi-hole design optimizes dust extraction and allows for compatibility with a wide variety of abrasive sanding discs. The reinforced backing plate combined with a riveted aluminum drive plate reduces vibration and wobble providing stability during use. They are designed for flat or contour sanding without gouging in random orbit mode and turbo mode. These professional-strength pads provide cabinet makers, refinishers, carpenters and other users with superior performance for applications such as polishing, sanding in-between two coatings and fine sanding of solid surfaces.

While, i don't love that this costs as much as a harbor freight sander, it got my best sander back in working condition in about 3 minutes.

Like having pad durometer options for my sanders based on the substrate. Not crazy over the hole pattern based on the interface and abrasive disc I use but they work nonetheless. I just used a punch or box cutter to open holes in my non Bosch discs. Takes 15 seconds and with the net abrasives your set until you burn up the interfacing pad (they are consumables, saves this soft pad from and early demise).

Bosch should have included this pad with the dander. It works so much better getting a flat surface than the medium pad.

The hard platen for Bosch 6 inch sanders is satisfactory however the price from Amazon seems a little unreasonable. I don’t know what other retailers would charge but a price of Velcro backing pads…. I paid a lot for this

When you purchase this Bosch sander it comes with a medium sanding pad and I found that sanding on large flat services it was just to soft. Which is why I purchased this hard pad, it’s great for flat surfaces as it provided better contact to your work surface and less wear and tear on the pad.

No doubt this is your best option for a replacement backer pad, just wish it was a bit cheaper. The original had decent durability and lasted a good while and I have no reason to believe this won't do the same. So only gripe is price and that's not fair to remove a star since I agreed to it when I bought it :-)However... shortly after receiving this I wondered if I could refurbish the old one myself to avoid buying these anymore. So I found some 6" wide strip of Velcro (hook side of course) on Amazon, traced&cut that into a disc, punched out the dust holes, and glued it onto the old pad with industrial rubber cement (also "sanded" some wood prior to gluing without any sandpaper attached to rub off any remaining hooks). Boom - new sander pad for $2 in Velcro. See for yourself in the pic, top pad is the old one with 2 weeks of use already.

Bought this for my bosch dual action sander. Accidentally used the sander without a pad on there & the hook/loop wore down and the new sanding pads wouldn't stick. Had to buy this to get it working again. Exact same OEM part.Had the sander been a dewalt, milwaukee, or makita i could have went to their service center in town and maybe found this part there. BUT.... bosch has now service center in my town[boo]
