I really like this kit. It's nice because the pillow fabric is pre-sewn to the latch hook grid. This will make it so much easier to turn it into an actual pillow. Another nice thing is that unlike other latch hook kits I've used the colors of the string are already separated. This is a huge time saver! The tool is smaller than others I've used and it makes it much easier to grab on to the string. The instructions are easy to read and follow. This is a great kit and I recommend it.

I love latch hook lately. I've done a few rugs but I've never done a pillowcase before. For some reason I've never come across a kit like this. Most of the patterns have a color coded system that you almost don't really have to worry about the paper pattern unless the colors are too close together to tell the difference. This pattern is very light and I can't really tell what color goes where. Now... on the paper pattern it does say, "The color blocks on the color printing pillowcase only indicate the color interval, not the actual embroidery color. Please choose the color according to the drawing and line number". So, I really haven't been paying attention to the color on the pillow. Will it turn out right? I don't know, but I'm sure I can fix it to look fine if there are any hiccups.The latch hook canvas is sturdy. The backing is a soft velvety feel. The zipper on the back is smooth. The yarn is a nice quality and easy to use. The hook is the same kind that comes with every kit but it's working great so far! It'll make a really cute pillow once it's finished.It's a great quality kit and comes in a nice plastic envelope to keep everything contained. My only concern is that for an absolute beginner, this might be a little more difficult than a different kit that has a darker color grid on the canvas. I'd say this is more intermediate than beginner friendly but super cute!
