Need a phillips screwdriver, but definitely easy to assemble IF you watch the video first. I watched it all the way through, then again step by step as I worked on the chair.Seems sturdy and has a good weight to it. BUT if you stand behind the chair and put weight on the back of the chair eg you grab the back rest to maintain balance or steady yourself, the chair WILL tip over backwards. It will also tip over backwards if you lean back while you are sitting in it !!! So I am using it back up against a wall. If I needed to use it out in an open space, I would return it because it is not stable in all directions. Too bad, because I originally thought it would be ideal anywhere.
