Wasn't sure about the foam piece but it is functional and easy to use. Definitely worth the price. Liking all my BOW products so far.

This is a great feather board! Bit pricey but what's a few $$ when you're buying a great product that might someday save a finger or two - or stopping a kick-back.It worked very well doing some re-sawing on the band saw with them stacked and running some molding through the router table. This product should win a safety award if it hasn't already!! Congrats and thanks to the Inventors!

Easy to work knobs and can apply a heap of pressure toward the fence without too much friction. Will also stop the piece from sliding back toward you which is a great feature.

Am using this with my table saw and have found it very useful to keep pressure and grip on what you are working with, a lot safer than fingers!

I really hated giving only a 4 star as I REALLY like this product. It is a great feather board that really helps hold the board being cut solidly square to the fence. Even better than the Hedgehog which I also like. This is better as the Hedgehod has a much smaller contact point and this has contact the full length of the feather board. I'm teaching my adult son woodworking and I put safety above all else when he is in the shop. If something is in the gray area, I find a different way for him to make the cut.Why then only 4 stars. This is really on Amazon I believe. Ordered first one and the BOW box came opened and all the parts where scattered in the bigger shipping box. Even the ziplock bag holding the bolts had torn open. There was no instruction sheet when really isn't needed to use the product but was needed to make sure that I had everything. I did not. It was missing several items so I suspect it opened when the Amazon picker was boxing it and not everything made it to the shipping box. No worries, this happens and I was not upset as while Amazon is taking over the world, they are doing it with absolute awesome customer service and sent me a new one. The new one came opened and scattered in the shipping box as well. This time it had the instruction sheet which listed all the parts and all the parts made it. So, is it an Amazon issue just forcing their workers to move too fast or is it a BOW issue with not having an adequate box for this product? Don't know but just know both products came this way.

For years I have used my own shop-made featherboards for the table saw and the router table. I was given a pair of these for Christmas and liked them so much I ordered another pair two days later.Really well made, rigid and quality productFits the T-slot tracks for all my machines and swaps form one to another with no adjustmentFits the mitre tracks on my table saw and my bandsawThe stacking feature is awesomeI am teaching my teenage son how to use the workshop; these add a huge safety factor particularly for small stock.

I'm a furniture maker and a trim carpenter constantly building stuff while simultaneously avoiding becoming a "frequent flyer" at the emergency room. I've owned a lot of feather boards and most of them are junk. They are either too small, too stiff, hard to adjust, won't stay in place, the plastic fingers break easily or they simply don't work. The Bow feather board is the first device of it's kind that I feel comfortable using, is considerably safer than other designs I've used, easy to adjust and is remarkably sturdy. A table saw kickback, material "jump" off a saw table top or a "wandering board" are all incredibly dangerous situations. Ask any ER doc who's had a visit from a patient with a few fingers on ice in a small beer cooler.I bought the Bow "double stack" of two feather boards for larger lumber and individually or as a pair, they are invaluable finger savers for any table saw. I cannot believe the number of "home improvement" spin off shows that have video of the knucklehead host bare handing short stock through a table saw blade minus a feather board and a push stick. That's just plain stupid. The foam fingers on the Bow product have great gripping power, it locks down tight on the table saw top, the fingers are replaceable and won't break like plastic fingers. The Bow is also a lot thicker than most feather boards and provides better stability on thicker boards and when doubled up, the Bow is really stable. If safety and retaining all your digits or avoiding a wooden stake missile shot into your groin is your idea of of a smart thing to do, then the Bow feather board is a must have.I read the one star reviews. Why do people post such useless 10 word reviews or whine about the packaging? What's the point? Rhetorical question - there is no point, they should be deleted by Amazon.

Every now and then a better mouse trap is invented. This is one of those cases. I am a woodworker and have been for quite a few years. Like most wood workers I have several feather boards. I have purchased some and have made some and for the most part they function okay. I had a project where I needed some more feather boards to make some of my own custom molding on my router table. After a great deal of research I discovered that for the most part they were all pretty much the same. When I saw these I was intrigued because they were totally different than the other offerings. After watching some videos and looking at the design, I thought that I would give them a try and I am so glad that I did. They are extremely well engineered and executed. The replaceable "feathers" hold better that any feather board that I have ever used...and I have used a number of brands as well as my own. I have used them single and double stacked on both my router table and bench saw with flawless performance. They add a degree of confidence and safety that I have not experienced prior to using these. I have another project in the works that will require two sets of double stacked feather boards. I will definitely purchase another set of these even though I have a set of double stacks from a major woodworker store. There is absolutely no comparison whatsoever. If you are looking for feather boards your search is over. The value of these far outweigh the cost. Like most woodworkers, I value my safety far more that the cost of a good quality tool. Since the "fingers" are replaceable, and mine arn't, I would not consider any other feather board out there. I don't often give glowing reviews but this product deserves the five stars. I am glad that I purchased them and you will be as well. It is very satisfying when a purchase of a new tool far exceeds expectations.
