It feels good in my hand, has nice presentation and came in a timely manner. The release was housed in a black aluminum box as well as foam to protect it during shipping. It came with Allen wrenches for adjustments and a wrist loop. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this Bow release. The first time I used it I hooked it on the D-ring, pulled back and it prematurely released before full extension. Left a bit of a welt on my forearm (I wasn’t wearing a forearm guard which is my fault). While it hurt, yes, the main concern is if one has an arrow notched and it prematurely releases. Thankfully I was on target and no one got hurt but me. Please be safe out there.

I like that it's fully adjustable! The thumb release seem like it was not going to be good for me but then I realized that I could take the screw out and switch it over to the other side like not just adjust it but I can literally switch it to the other side and completely change the angle. You can change the tension which is nice. The unit seems smaller than I thought but feels good in my hand. You can also reverse the foam in the box to fit the release after switching thumb release to the other side. I think I am going to really like this. I haven't used it yet but will tonight sometime

UPDATE: Ok at first but now starting to not close completely. Caused the arrow to release prematurely. I was using it on my 55lb bow - might work better on a lower poundage bowI lost the tip of one finger on my string hand so using the traditional tabs didn’t work as well. This allows me to transition to a release without having to completely relearn my draw.

This seems to be a quality release. I have used a back tension release for about 20 years due to target panic, but I'm going to give this release a try this Spring for turkey season. It is well made. It was listed at $36 when I ordered it, very reasonable for a release these days (and over $100 less than my last back tension release, bought over 10 years ago.)

This is my third Thumb style release. It is equivalent to the $60-$80 ones in the typical big box sporting goods store. It's on the heavier side and fits a large hand (may be a bit large for youth or women) with a really nice wrap around section for your pinky. It is two way adjustable for the thumb rest (vertical position plus a rotating barrel for the actual thumb rest surface). The thumb rest adjustment is intuitive and similar for pretty much all thumb releases. However there are an additional two adjustment screws that adjust thumb travel to reduce or increase the travel before release. This is critical if you use back tension to trigger the release. One of my $60 releases does not have that adjustment. The only hitch is that there are no instructions so you have to loosen the side set screw and use the inset screw to shorten or lengthen the amount of travel to trigger the release. At first I though the travel was a bit long and decided to adjust it. But I decided to shoot it first. It actually shot pretty well out of the box with only the thumb position adjustment. After shooting 10 arrows, I took it inside and adjusted the travel and shot another 10 arrows. It didn't take much adjustment to get it shooting great with back tension alone. All in all, this is a really nice release with 2 negatives.... first, please include some instructions to help people who have never setup a release like this. Second, the wrist strap attaches to the release with a really small string. It needs to be thicker (think at least serving thickness).... I'd be concerned the release could get caught on brush and it would rip the wrist strap off. Instructions and a better wrist strap would make this a solid 5.

I got this for my compound fishing bow; I sometimes need to pull it back and hold it for a while waiting on a school of fish to come by. This release is comfortable and the trigger release break is clean. The release pressure was a little high for me when I got it; however, it was very easy to adjust it lower. This is a well made release at a good price.
