They are heat-treated to avoid any distortion or focal shift. The UV filter's most practical use is the absorption of ultra-violet rays without increase of exposure, thereby preventing haziness and foggy effects in distant landscape. The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

I ordered the Silver one but was sent a Black one instead. Also, it looked used as the edges were rough. For the price its fine as the filter works but still, not what I expected.

No enviaron la marca que se anuncia pero enviaron una Vivitar que es hecha en China. Hasta ahora no he notado una distorsión y la uso para proteger el lente de mi Nikon z50. La ventaja que vi con otros es el precio muy económico y que se puede sobreponer otro lente. el Arillo es de color nego y NO tan ancho, el vidrio no se percibe muy frágil, así que para cubrir es muy recomendable. Le puse 4 estrellas porque llegó en otra marca que no era la anunciada.

I have been searching for a UV lens for my Panasonic FZ35 and nailed it with this BOWER!!Fits like it's part of the camera,also it's GLASS not plastic!Bought mine as a kit with a polizer and flourcent light lens,very happy!!!!
