These are great shorts in addition to using them for swimming! I bought for my 4 year old for swimming but we wear them almost daily in the summer. They do have a mesh lining but not in the underwear form so it's easy to use as shorts. Very well made and great quality.

These Boys Swim Trunks in Black and White Buffalo Check Plaid are fantastic! The fit is spot on, and the quality is amazing. The fabric feels durable yet comfortable, perfect for all-day wear at the pool or beach. They also look exactly like the picture, with a sharp, stylish plaid pattern that really stands out. Material feels like a cross between swim trunk material and windbreaker material. Isn’t too stiff, but feels like it would hold up to a decent amount of activity and dry quickly. The colors are bold, and the white didn’t seem so thin that it would be see through if wet, however I can’t attest to that as I had to return because my 9 year old, who is pretty slender, could not fit in the size 10 without cinching it tightly causing significant bunching in the waist. He normally wears either an 8 or 10 in clothing- I think the 8 would have fit him better.

I initially bought these for a Monster Truck themed birthday swim party. I ended up buying the exact same pair about a year later for my other son. Modern pattern and good quality! The fabric was much thicker than I expected.
