Install Instructions:

s

Requirement of Strong in Operation

  • It has certain degree of difficulty to install the disc brake, so you must have strong hands-on ability. Otherwise, please think carefully before placing an order

s

The First Step of Adjustment

  • First, make sure that the original hub is holding brake type, or both sides of the hub should be threaded!! If not, it's not easy to install!!
  • Then try to install the disc brake seat and disc. Because of hubs differences, the disc may be too close to the frame. This should be solved by ourselves. The direct solution is to add shims on the shaft to increase the distance between the frame and the disc. You can also adjust the left and right distance through the shafts on both sides!

s

The Second Step of Adjustment

  • Due to the concentricity of the discs installed is poor on some bicycles, it is easier to scuff the brake pads when installing the brake calliper, so you have to adjust yourself after installation!
  • The pipe diameter installed on the conversion bracket may not be suitable for your car. If it is still too large, then you should find a gasket to pad it.

I was happy to find these brackets to adapt my bike to disc brakes

This design was garbage! How I expected this to actually work was beyond me. The little bracket that goes around the forks is nowhere near stable enough to support the caliper. Be careful buying this product. Mine completely crumbled at the slightest touch on the handle. Not to mention warped my disk like a taco. Might work for regular bikes but be careful I almost ate asphalt.

Nice idea. Doesn't actually work if you put any force on the brakes. The clamp and the method of clamping to a down post is too flimsy. Nice to try but save yourself some time and get a frame with the lugs to take the disc brake caliper mounts

Fundamental design flaws with this:* the smallest clamp is too large for most standard forks, so you would either need to use a thick shim or replace the clamp (ie bracket).* the axle opening is at the wrong angle (not matching the angle of the dropout's opening. as a result it blocks the opening. that means when you need to take the wheel off (get a flat or for putting into trunk or locking) you have to remove the quick-release to get the wheel off. and if you ride a fixed gear (or budget) bike with axles that stick out (ie with nuts), you would have to remove the whole bracket!Thankfully I got it half price.

I bought the rear instead of the front? Stupid buyer but it all worked out ok, I just flatened out the bracket and it was ok for the front brake. Great product and good delivery. On time.

The metal is far too flimsy to handle the lateral stresses when the breaks engage. First time in use, not even a 'hard break', it bent out to the side, causing the disk breaks to lock into the disks, bending the disks and locking up the front wheel. I caught myself, as it was a low speed initial test. Could've been dangerous. I bought some heavy aluminum angle, shaped, drilled holes for the breaks and bolted it through the bike forks. Not pretty, but a much sturdier, much safer solution. I do not recommend these flimsy brackets - safety issue in my opinion.

It was just a little bit bigger than the size stated to go on fork but quick fix with an old tube for a spacer and works perfect. It's holding up so far and couldn't be happier for the price and fast delivery. I only have it 4 stars due to the size but other than that great piece.
