I got the “new” version of the hose barb, they advertise shipping 2 styles new/old. I cannot find anything from Magura to substantiate this “new” variant aftermarket barb design. The head is completely different and has me scratching my head as to 1) why deviate to “new” design when nothing from oem clearly aligns 2) no explanation or faq to understand if this works. Not trying to cut my lines and spend resources to just experiment with it or have reliability ambiguity.

These are great for replacement in a Magura brake system. They work the same as OEM.

I installed some used magura MT5 brakes on my surron and wanted to replace the brake line before installing. These barbs and olives fit my MT5 brakes perfectly and I have had no leaking issues since installing. You may notice that magura olives and barbs are slightly different than shimano ones so make sure you are ordering these for magura brakes and not some other brand.You will need a little press or jig to install the barbs but that's pretty standard with all hydraulic brakes. After installing these work great and I have no complaints. I also have leftover parts so I could replace the brake lines several more times. Overall, I am very satisfied with these. 10/10
