This bathroom fan was returned because our handyman had trouble fitting it into our old opening. We have no idea if it runs quiet or not?

I bought two of these for both of my bathrooms. However, I found it interesting that it does not make a lot of noise in one bathroom, but in the other the noise is a little louder. I asked the maintenance man who installed them and he said that the bathroom where it was making more noise was more likely because there was a pipe that was installed on the ceiling which was too close to the vent and he thought that was more likely the reason why it was making more noise than the other. The other one is so quite you can barely hear it at all. I still think is a good product and I highly recommend it.

I just bought a house. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. This had to be rectified immediately. This thing is insanely silent and moves a tonne of air. I feel like I've moved up to a whole other league of exhaust fans I didn't know existed.I do have one complaint though: the amount of space afforded for wiring is annoyingly small. I ran 14/3 to it as I had to insert it into an existing circuit, and getting all of those wires situated in the tiny space alloted without having a bunch of marrettes hanging out unsafely in my attic was.. a chore.

I give this fan 4 stars simply because of the ease of installation. I would give 4.5 stars, if that was an available option. I think that you must enter the attic to duct this fan properly. It is also larger than many fans, which some may consider a plus. There are some extra holes in the sheet metal housing that I covered with duct tape so that the fan could not pull any air from there, and to be sure no bugs could get through. For these reasons, I felt it important to seal the box housing. I had to cut the sheetrock opening larger than it originally was for my prior Braun exhaust fan, which was a builder version that has been there since 1986. Says a lot for the durability of Braun fans. Moves a significant amount of air through the duct and is very quiet. Big improvement over the original Braun, which is a less expensive alternative. This one is far better. Good product.

No bathroom remodel would be done correctly without installing a good fan to remove moisture. At least, that is my novice philosophy. I purchased this one after reading a ton of reviews and I am very satisfied. I can barely hear it when it's on, was easy to install, and does the job. Highly recommend. Will be replacing the old fan in my other bathroom soon with the same but smaller unit.

I can't believe how quiet this fan is! Compared to my last fan I can barely hear it! And that's what I was looking for. Vented it out of the house and works great. You can easily hook this up with the same switch as lights, as you don't have to worry about any loud fan going on!

This vent fan is quiet, as described. And, it moves a lot of air. Great installation options: The cover will sit flush to the ceiling, whether the box is installed flush to the material or on top of it. The internal j-box has plenty of room. There are many ways this vent fan can be installed, and good mounting hardware is provided. If, you;re looking for a vent fan in any bathroom, this is a great choice. I have a CURB energy meter on the leads, and it uses between 30-34 watts, on my hardware. I think this is very acceptable for the work it does.

Pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is. Works great within the 8" rafters, that were used between floors in my home, yet still uses a 6" duct.UPDATE: Had to replace this fan prior to completing my bathroom remodel due to using it to suck out drywall dust. Worked great for a time but once moisture got to the accumulated drywall dust it solidified and stopped the fan from turning. May have also burned out the motor, but not sure. My fault - Not Broan's. Purchased a second one to replace it. I have to consider it - a tough & expensive learning experience.

This fan also it did not come included with the Humidity plug-in module that senses the room humidly and turns on the fan! Total Crap! ! !Totally incorrect dimension of the product supplied at Amazon! (5.1 x 5.1 x 2.5 cm).I have 2 other Broan bathroom fans and not a problem, till this one. Expected better! So disappointed.

While you will need to gain attic access to install, and I needed an adapter to change the vent line diameter, this is a quality unit. It clears a steamy bathroom nicely in fairly short order. It is very quiet for a fan of this volume. Not an easy install, but worth the effort. I use a timer switch to let the unit run for another 15 minutes after the shower, and this really helps eliminates moisture, hopefully cutting the chances of moisture damage over time.

If new install, get these and run with it. If upgrading be prepared to expand out your ceiling hole and plan accordingly. These are very quite as long as the exhaust vent hose is not bent at an angle in the attic, curve gradually, no 90 degree turns. I upgraded my original from house and it took me about an hour to install each since I had to enlarge sheetrock ceiling hole and re-route some exhaust vents. Wiring is ultra simple.I had a NuTone 3 sone fan and the difference is like jet engine versus soft breeze, I literally sometimes forget the fan is on and have to check. To that end I got the auto timer bath fan light switches from HD to solve that problem.

This Broan model moves lots of air and does it very quietly. You will be surprised. Not silent but compared to other entry level, contractor model bathroom fans, this one is well worth the money.Sidenote: All bathroom fans should be hooked up to a wall switch timer. You'll use it more often. Supposed to leave fans on for up to 30-minutes after a shower, but who does that if you're on the way to work or you forget? Get a simple rotary timer, turn to 30-min and walk away. Great to reduce humidity in bathrooms or move air out of the commode room.
