Your cart is empty.Proofide is the only substance that should be used to care for your Brooks Leather Saddle, specially formulated from natural ingredients to condition, preserve and showerproof. Apply a little of this leather saddle cream to the finished side of the leather. Allow to permeate until dry and then polish off. Also apply Proofide to the underside of the saddle, but leave this coating on to protect against dirt and moisture. It should be used several times during the ‘breaking-in’ period and periodically (3-6 months) thereafter. It is recommended to polish the saddle with a soft cloth before first use.

This Proofide won't void your warranty...I can't imagine spending big money on a Brooks saddle, and then cheaping out on the saddle conditioner just to save a few bucks. The same people probably complain when their saddle leather dries out before it's time...This treatment was formulated by and for Brooks saddle leather. Nuff said.A satisfied customer

This is the treatment Brooks recommends for its leather saddles. After taking the seat off, I applied it on the bottom side then the top before thoroughly wiping the top down. Allowed it to sit for a couple of days before riding it. I love the saddle, and this is necessary to break in and preserve it.

When I first got the saddle, I did not realize that it came with a small sample of this to treat it, so used LP conditioner instead. Once I took apart the packaging I realized a small amount of Proofide had been supplied. I put it on there, too. I now realize why you want to use this instead of plain leather conditioner. Proofide has some type of volatile oil in it that helps to penetrate through the finished leather (I could tell from years of working with essential oils) that would make it work better than a plain leather conditioner. Will continue to treat with just the Proofide in the future.
