I had 2 similar lunge lines that are over 20 years old and still use and work fine for horses. I wanted a longer line for my new dog 35 foot. This kind of lunge line is hard to find and I thought was discontinued until I saw it on Amazon! I have a small hand but this thickness is fine for me. The line can be looped easily, does not blow around in the wind and is somewhat stiff (a good thing) so it will not tangle under normal use. Even at 35' I think it is light weight and easy to handle. The snap is heavier and a little bigger than the ones on my old lunge lines. For horse it would not make a difference and probably be better. My dog is basset/beagle mix, 15" tall and can carry the snap but I would have preferred a smaller snap. However this line is, meant for horses. I'm glad I found this lunge line. I had tied my 2 old lunge lines together and used them with the big knot because I couldn't find this lunge line at any horse store site I looked at.

So disappointed I purchased these and didn’t notice right away the design flaw. If standing in the buckle side you can’t pull your horse if he’s eating grass. The ring that the lead attaches to cannot slide to the side of the horses face to properly pull because the buckle stops it.

I like the weight and the feel of this lunge line. It's not too light like the nylon ones. Easy to hold in you hand and gather up. Good grip. Strong and sturdy. I would recommend this line to anyone who lunges on a regular basis.
