My disks did not retain moisture. The water ran right out and pooled into my sugar, turning it white. The disk dried out inside an airtight container within less than a day. I returned them for a refund.I see another review here where the writer was concerned that the disk contained bleach as it turned her sugar white. I'm not concerned about that, as brown sugar turns white when it's rinsed with water, as it washes out the molasses. It will also turn white if it dries out. I don't think the disks are harmful, but they don't seem to work.

These turned my brown sugar white. I assume there is bleach or something in it. I had to trash my cannister. Do Not Buy.
