About this item

The MPR-AF1 is your personal radio it is a great for receiving your local sports radio, NPR, and your favorite music.
  • To power on the radio a long press is required (a short press will enable sleep mode). The MPR-AF1 has an internal ferrite bar antenna that in-itself has extreme sensitivity, but our engineers went a step beyond the internal ferrite antenna, intelligently designing the headphone jack to also act as an external antenna jack as well. This allows your headphones to be used as a long external antenna (while still providing crisp stereo audio). A true feat of engineering.
  • More than just a mini am fm radio walkman, the MPR-AF1 includes a built-in clock, and includes features such as storing your favorite channel presets or allowing you to lock the keypad (to ensure your channel is locked in, while you are out moving on the go).

I am pleasantly surprised how well this is constructed. Every detail has been thought of and considered. I took a chance on this for my Sangean dt-180. The antenna wholes are on the opposite side so you could turn the radio with the back side out or do not close. Depending on how much activity, I use it both ways. This unit is well worth the price!

I have had this radio for 15 months. It worked fine for about a year, then started turning itself on and draining the battery while sitting idle. I go to use it and find that it is dead, the screen blank. I can charge it again and it continues to work fine, but the self-draining is annoying. It was cheap, and maybe meant to only last a year. I will probably move on to something else.

I ordered this product to use the sleep mode when going to bed. It works great for that purpose. Sleep mode directions seemed clear to me (and I'm no techy). Features I like: very small and lightweight; raised control buttons (like volume control) are easy to use in the dark; sound quality is very good with earphones; battery life is good so far; love the sleep mode, which can be adjusted down from 90 minutes in 10-minute increments very easily; despite what I read in some reviews, I thought the directions were easy enough to follow...and I'm 75 and have probably lost a few brain cells.

Let me share the good points first.- great sound- small, lightweight- great reception- it is AM+FM, which is not easily found these days - some of us are about music and mind. The rest of my thoughts on this little radio.I really wanted to love this enough to get a second one and one for a family member. It arrived looking as though it was already used, yet it was new according to the purchase info. I'm pretty sure. It was half charged. When I chose it I didn't realise it is an internal bat that gets recharged via the usb, as many moder devices do. That kind of was a let down. It doesn't charge enough or quickly imo. Then there is supposed to be a favorites setting. My hubby was able to set my AMstations up but the FM he couldn't get them for me. So my hands are not great, I have to scan for the FM choices and lose them everytime. The last let down is the lock feature isn't a slide type lock. It's a push down button. If you are an active person it will release unbeknownst to you. For me not only does this happen but also the power button gets hit 'off'. I hear silence, look down and see what has happened.

Perfect little radio for walks around the neighborhood where there’s no WiFi. My phone only uses WiFi and having FM music is very nice. Size is perfect, small and light! And neck lanyard is very convenient, as well as including ear buds. I also like that it’s rechargeable and no need to worry about batteries. Sound quality is ok. At first I thought the sound was too tinny but I’m now used to it. Only glitch was setting up it up because the buttons were locked. But now I have my presets with extra capacity for lots more. Overall very nice little radio!

The instructional manual might as well be in a foreign language for all the use it is.It wouldn't even open to display the setting where the radio is set up. I tried various combinations hoping i find something that worked, but sadly no joy.Hard to understand why a company like Amazon would sell a product that has a history of not working. It seems from other reviews that its regular occurrence.

This is a small, dependable pocket radio with minor flaws. The battery has a short shelf life and requires frequent recharging. Sometimes, the controls do not respond as expected. I have to turn the device off for two minutes and re-energize before regaining control. I bought this to wear around my neck and under a shirt at local professional baseball games in order that I can listen while I work. The directions leave much to be desired, however, once decyphered, the radio provides dependable service and lasts through a complete 4 hour/nine inning AAA ball game. However, for the price, the radio, rugged and dependable is a bargain. It is sturdy and gives good service in both AM and FM frequencies. If lost, I would not hesitate to buy another.
