I got these to protect a vent pipe as it goes through the top plate in some framing, they're 3" wide so go over 2 2x really nicely. They work well if you've had to notch the plate or if you just had to get close to edge.

Well built - very strong steel, and fit 2" pipe perfectly. Keep in mind - these are a 3" spread - for a double stop application, or for a 4x4" post. I bought in haste, and thought they were a single stud application. I wasn't able to use them after all. Maybe on the next project.As for the quality of the product - they are excellent.
