1st order of 3 packs in 1 pkg= 25 sheets. But someone only sent me1 pkg of 5 sheets. Called Amazon explained situation and they sent 1 more package a of 5 sheets. Still short a package. BUT The drivers don't follow delivery directions. All packages were placed up on the front porch, seen full view from the street - in the hot sun -. Even after I called them many times about following delivery instructions RESULT: The sticky part bonded with the sheets and made a mess: my fingers were sticky, the cover paper was sticky and the adhesive didn't stay bonded on the material for applique. The product is great, but delivery ruined it. Buy in a fabric or craft store you'll be much happier.

This product is great for applique projects. It has a grid side for drawing or tracing. It is easy to see through when placed over a pattern, especially with a light box. It can be difficult to separate the backing from the grid side to place on the fabric as the sticky layer tends to stick to the backing. To solve this, you may have to peel a small part of the corner open, look to see which side the sticky is on, and if needed use your finger nail or a needle point to scratch and lift the corner of the sticky film and flip over the the side of the paper you need it on. Be sure to hold the sticky film down with your fingernail to the drawing side before peeling back the whole backing. It may take some practice before this works well for you. If you find the sticky film is consistently stuck to the wrong side I just traced my pattern on the non-grid side instead. Its a hassle but worth it when the pieces stick so well. Don't over iron it as the glue may loose its effectiveness.

When the Warm Co. started making Steam-A-Seam 2 again, they even improved on a great product. They added grid lines to the cover sheets so that it is even easier to apply and cut out. This product works much better than the "other" brand. I do not even iron it to the back of the fabric before cutting out a shape. It has enough adhesive to hold the applique fabric to the background fabric, making it easy to re-position the shape until you have it exactly right. This product is Steam-A-Seam 2 LIte, and is intended to be used on lighter fabrics. It allows the finished quilt, etc. to be flexible and not stiff. If you want a stiffer finished product, buy the regular Steam-A-Seam 2. The 2 means that the interfacing is sticky and fusible on both sides and is perfect for any type of applique work. If you just want to add body to a project, buy regular Steam-A-Seam. Be sure to use plenty of steam when adhering the layers together. No steam? Use a damp press cloth, but steam is better.
