I had this style wallet back in the 1990s and loved it, however, I could not find it in the store anymore and compromised. I found this one and it was delivered to an address I could not get to for a month. I now have used it for a month and the coin purse clasp has already broken off! It never did clasp well from the start. Now, the return date has passed. I cannot use the coin section without coins spilling. A replacement would do the same thing, I'm sure. I would love the seller to explain this! Amazon did refund my account with a restocking fee. I am grateful.

Ordered the wallet as a replacement for an identical one I've had for over 10 years. It has all the features I like: durable leather, external coin purse, checkbook holder, and credit card slots. A little disappointed in the materials and the size of the new checkbook holder. Originally, the inside of the holder was fabric that allowed for easy insertion of the checkbook and register. The new checkbook holder has a plastic/vinyl inside lining, which does not allow the checkbook and register to be easily inserted. Also, the interior dimensions of the holder are slightly smaller; I had to cut one edge of the interior lining before I could insert the register. (See photo.) Another minor point: there is a pen holder on the edge of the checkbook holder, which is also slightly smaller than before. Overall, I'm satisfied with my new wallet but it did take some tinkering and cutting before I was able to put it to good use.

I love this wallet. The coin "holder"(?) is on outside of wallet and snaps open - it's easy to get into and big enough to hold a reasonable amount of coins including quarters. There's plenty of space inside with several dividers for keeping receipts, notes, whatever and plenty of room for cash, as well. I love the color, I love the size, I love the convenience - I guess that's why I buy them over and over again. And, I think the price is right - it holds up well, but I like to my wallets to be clean and in good shape - guess that's from working retail, it's amazing how many really crummy looking wallets are in use out there that should be retired - but I digress. It's a great wallet.

I had been using the same bulky designer wallet for about five years and eschewing function for fashion and after the embarrassment of dropping my coins in the grocery store for probably the 50th time I decided to buy something new so on a whim I purchased this wallet. The pictures here on the site are exactly as the wallet looks.It is thin and functional and holds your money, cards and change in place. It is a very basic $40 wallet - exactly what you would expect. The only thing I do not like is that I find it somewhat difficult to remove the cards from the card holders, it is kind of a tight fit but other than that it is completely fine.UPDATE: after owning this for a few months the wallet shows signs of wear and looks awful - I would not recommend it to anyone. The brown looks worn and faded in places. I would not pay $5 for this piece of junk.

I originally purchased one of these lovely purses in 2003 in Naples, whilst on holiday in Florida. It is so incredibly user-friendly and still in very good condition. I have often wondered what I would do when it eventually wore out and have kept a lookout for a possible replacement. I couldn't find it on the Buxton website or on the Amazon website when I checked in previous years. So I was absolutely delighted to see that Amazon have now made it available. I immediately bought a second one. The postage was a bit high but I suppose this is only to be expected as it had to be posted from America to England.

Nice supple material. lots of room. can easily get money in and out without fighting with the wallet. like that the change purse in on the back rather than inside. I personally don't carry my checkbook in my wallet but there is plenty of room for it and would not be overly bulky. Also has a holder for a pen which is very handy as I am always digging in the bottom of my purse for a pen. No I know where I can always find one. Room for cards as well as pictures and a special place for your driver's license.Would highly recommend this wallet.

I've had one of these for years, and it finally began falling apart, so I knew it was time to purchase another. I was happy to discover that they are still being made the same, but there is one feature that has been changed. On my old one, I ended up ripping the leather on the space for the picture ID, because it was so difficult to take the ID out and put it back in when I needed to. In this one, there is an open place in the plastic card-cover for your fingers to push the ID out when necessary, and it's quite easy to slide it back in, too! Wonderful! Who knew you could improve on perfection? The change purse is roomy and well-made, and there are plenty of pockets for your go-to credit cards, and other cards of all kinds. There's a zippered pocket, a place for your checkbook, and all kinds of space for anything you can think of, yet the organizer stays neat and flat. The pretty Buxton logo on the top is an added plus. Can't think of anything negative to say. If you need an organizer, buy this one.

I have been living in Japan for the last 2 1/2 years and because of their currency system, I carry around a decent amount of coinage when I go off base (On base I use cards and American currency). The coins literally wore a hole in my trusty wallet which I've had for over 5 years. After looking around at the options, I chose this one because of the potential to carry a full check book (something I'd given up because my old wallet was too small) and it looked nice in the picture.It is a chic looking little wallet. I feel comfortable using it as a clutch if I don't feel like bringing a full purse. It is a little large for some handbags, but the change purse on the side carries a decent amount of yen coins and that was my major concern.One small thing is that it is hard to get an ID out of the window display and living on a military base (spouse not service member) I'm always having to show my ID in order to get in and out of the front gate or even make a purchase at the stores. I had to keep the ID in a credit card slot for easy access and use the window for my civilian license. I also found that I only had one or two slots left open for credit cards. I only have on credit and one debit card but a lot of membership cards are credit card shaped (library cards, store club cards), so if you carry a lot of these you might have to pick and choose which are easily stored.
