Bought this box early December 2024. Shipping was faster than expected but showed up with multiple dents and paint chips. Seller blamed the shipping company and they told me they would inform the packaging department to add more padding. I bought another box because i do believe they are well built but the next one showed up in the same if not worse condition. An almost $600 side carrier box doesn't have to be perfect but it would be nice if the front wasn't dented with paint missing to accelerate rust.

Was cautious about buying a used unit, but the price was right. There is a dent in the unit, that does not affect the operation and I am fully satisfied.

i bought one of these and two of the smaller ones because there made in the USA and all three of them door on all mine sit to the right (bigger gap on one side and and tight on the other it’s unfortunate for some reason all three boxes are the same and ordered 3 months apart

Ordered 2 of these for my work truck and when I received them they where both dented & scratched everywhere. One of the boxes latch arms that hold the door shut was laying in the bottom of the box. So I either have to return it or call buyer and pay for a new latch??

The box works great!However the keys were locked inside the box when it arrived. I requested another set of keys from the seller and they got them to me within two days. Highly recommend the product

Didn't notice any damage to the cardboard box or the tool box itself, which kind of surprised me reading some other reviews. Two things -- 1. I did not receive any keys for the lock, which was another prior complaint. Not a big deal, it's a very common key, I already have a couple. Would suck if the lock was a one-off tho. 2. The latch was pretty stiff the first time I opened it. I opened/closed it a couple times, figured it was just getting broke in. Then one of the latch bars fell off. Turns out the kotter key that holds the latch bar on was catching on a inside plate by the handle. I re-installed the kotter key but the same thing happened. The space is pretty tight to work with, so I removed the other latch bar. I used a needle nose pliers to install the kotter key the opposite direction so the loop rubs on the inside plate. Re-installed the second latch bar. Smooth as silk now. Everything else looks good.

I purchased this truck tool box so I could store equipment in my house. I don't have a lot of stuff, but I run my business from my home, and I have several items that are fairly expensive. This box is excellent for locking up my stuff.It's got a three-point lock, so I think it well be pretty resistant to a crowbar or screwdriver attack. To further enhance the security, I bolted the box to studs in the wall of my house. The box is fairly heavy, but a couple of crooks could carry it off. Not now!Of course, this is not a fire-proof box, sadly. But what I did do is purchase a security safe that is fireproof, and put it inside of the box. So this smallish safe (which could easily be carried off) now will be very difficult to steal.What I did also to manage the rather large size of the box is to put my small two-drawer filing cabinet on top of the box. That elevates the filing cabinet, but not too high. I built a plywood topper to sit on top of the box so the filing cabinet won't be as likely to slide off.Overall, I think this is a smart way to protect precious gear for a really cheap price.Update: Feb 2018. This is a nicely made box. But I did take a star off. The lock is difficult to use. I have trouble getting the key in. I put a lot of powdered graphite in the lock, and that seemed to help. I do not take this box on the road. I suspect that may cause more problems with the lock and dirt and mud.The company should look into this.But, still, over all, I like the box. It's nicely painted, the steel is thick and sturdy, the interior volume is good. I just hope the lock holds up.
