I have a trailer that was self made somewhere. It's a decent little trailer with a rear ramp gate. The one main thing the fabricator looked over was a way to properly secure this rear ramp in the upright position. They used large dowel pins and a bolt through them welded to a chain to slip in and "lock" shut. This ramp has dropped down on me while on the street. Unsafe. I removed the rigged hardware they used, welded these on, and am very satified with it. These are sturdy. They lock in place. Easy to unlock and lock. And they hold this ramp gate closed in place. Much safer.

Latch works great! Welded it on my trailer to lock the curbside gate shut. Only reason i gave it 4 stars is because even though i didn't need it, the keeper was not with either one of the two that i bought.
