A unique lure that combines the best characteristics of a buzzbait and a floating topwater lure.
The Buzz Plug Junior is a downsized version of the original Buzz Plug, a unique lure that combines the best characteristics of a buzzbait and a floating topwater lure. This near-weedless floating lure features a built-in wobbling motion when retrieved at a constant speed, yet can be paused and gently twitched to tease bass into biting or ripped across the surface to violently buzz, spit water and leave a trail of bubbles. The Buzz Plug Junior features a floating frog/ rat body with a buzzbait blade at the front, which rises up out of the water when the bait is paused. An upturned double hook allows the lure to come over wood or other cover without snagging. The Buzz Plug Junior comes in six color patterns.

First time out, I caught a nice northern pike. In trying to extract the hook, it broke. I am having trouble finding a replacement hook. The process of removing broken hook and putting on a new one looks like a challenge as well. I bought two of these lures: one small and one large. Why would the smaller one be more expensive than the large one? Puzzling.

The last one I bought I've been using it for a few hours and it broke. However, i did miss a few big bass on it. Hopefully this one won't break on me.

I bought this Arbogast Junior Buzz, Perch plug, likely, as a used or open box lure, and it is new. The box was very dirty with oily stuff on it, but that really doesn't matter. I washed it off.As far as a review on whether it will catch fish, that depends on too many variables and besides it's 10 degrees out right now and I'm ice fishing. I was glad to find this old style plug for the spring and summer bass fishing.

El señuelo funciona y es interesante, pero el anzuelo doble con el que viene provisto, esta pesimamente diseñado, en mi primer salida de pesca se desprendió del señuelo!!! ahora tendré que buscarle algún cranpin o algún otro anzuelo para echarlo a andar nuevamente

This is a beautifully finished lure with quality hardware. It splashes similarly to a buzz bait but can be worked more slowly since it floats. When paused, the rear sinks into the water like the typical popper. At 2 7/8” long and weighing in at 5/8 oz, this Junior Buzz Plug is the mid-sized version of the Buzz Plug. The double 3/0 tail hooks point upwards to prevent snagging when the lure is worked over aquatic weeds. When fishing this in open water, I replace them with a feathered treble hook for the additional display when sitting still in the water as well as the extra hook.

I've been fishing with Arbogast lures for over 40 years. I just had to give this a try. The action on this lure is one of the most versatile of any topwater lures I've ever used, you can reel it in like a buzz bait, or you can jerk it like a topwater plug. It's a heavy lure and you can really cast it a long way. Sometimes when you are fishing in cover the weight of the lure will actually make it sink when you cast it and get caught up in moss. I wish they would consider making a smaller model. Even though this one works absolutely flawlessly, I think a smaller, lighter version would perform better.
