The 010M filter will eliminate unwanted invisible UV light, so that ocean and high mountain region photos will not be blurred or have a blueish cast. The filter also has a MRC Nano coating to repel water and dust.

B + W filters are a concept in photography with extra-ordinary quality. For the moment are only UV-filters available from the manufacturer for digital photography. I hope that even skylight 1B also will be availableon the consumer market.

Got the filter one day after. But it’s a used one! Box was opened before. No seals and full of dust one the filter!

I'm thoroughly disappointed with this filter, and B+W. These filters used to cost half what they do now, and come in a nice protective plastic case that kept out dust. Now they come in a mediocre box, with a terrible fabric pouch, that covers the filter in dust. I need to do further optical testing to see if it's worth keeping or not, but so far, I'm not impressed.

I compared filters with other brands. Reflection of B+W is the smallest and the easiest to clean.

The filter itself is great. Nobody is doubting that B+W makes some of the best quality filters right now. The new master's version with the "breakthrough" style knurled ring is a good improvement in handling. The filters are thin, good glass, and well coated. The filter on it's own is an easy 5/5.The packaging needs to be fixed. As many have noted on Amazon, B&H, etc the new bag (instead of the plastic case they used to use) leaves the filters dirty upon delivery. I spent multiple minutes with a brand new microfiber cloth getting it clean. I like that it's not plastic and so better for the environment, but it needs to be something functional. Just wrap it in a 10 cent lint free cloth and call it a day. I just don't want my filter dirty when it arrives. Packaging is a 1/5.At the end of the day the packaging is just a minor inconvenience that I'm willing to put up with for one of the best filters in the game.
