These hooks are a no-brainer for their price. I see that with all of the "COMP" branded hooks. The "Pro" series hooks offered by BWO seem to have all the makings of other cheap hooks. But these Comp models have been fantastic. I have used several of the models in several sizes and the quality seems to go across the board. I would say that the smaller traditional nymph and dry hooks might run a half hook size on the large side; meaning a size 18 might be closer to what would be a 17. But this is standard and can and should be considered during purchasing.

The BWO COMP hooks are made of quality steel, barbless and the wide gap and a sharp point noticeably increase hookups. The shank on all of their hooks is 1-size shorter in length than other brands, which is rarely noticeable. If you are catching trout, you are losing hooks and their price at about ½ the price for most other hooks, takes the sting out of losing flies.
