USE: Lady bugs prefer to eat aphids and will devour up to 50 a day, but they will also eat scale, mealy bugs, boil worms, leafhopper, and corn ear worm. They dine only on bugs and do not harm vegetation in any way. RELEASE: Lady bugs should always be released after sundown since they only fly in the daytime. During the night, they will search the area for food and stay as long as there is food for them to eat. The more they eat the more eggs they lay and the more bugs eating larvae you will have. It is best if the area has been recently watered. Ladybugs tend to crawl up and toward light. So release them in small groups at the base of plants and shrubs that have aphids or other bugs, and in the lower part of trees. RECOMMENDATIONS: Ladybugs may be kept in the refrigerator after they are received (35-50 degrees F.) and released as needed. Ladybugs received March through May should not be stored more than 2 to 3 days since their body fat has been depleted. From June on, they may be stored 2 to 3 months. It is normal for there to be several dead Ladybugs in the container, especially those received from March through May. These bugs have reached the end of their life cycle.

These arrived on time and nicely packaged. The mail courier placed the box in the mailbox even though it was clearly labeled to not place in mailbox. I told the seller and they sent me more ladies bugs!! Will buy again if I need more aphids taken down in the garden.

I bought the ladybugs twice. The first time I couldn't open the package right away and it sat on my kitchen table for 4 hours. I estimate a hundred were dead but that left me with 200 live and very hungry ladybugs. But I couldn't get them to go on the plants that were covered in aphids. Yes some stayed but most flew away. I was frustrated and bought another package and the minute they were delivered, I opened the package and put them in a container with a lid. Then I went around and tried to sprinkle them on the affected plants. This was somewhat more effective. A few days later I saw maybe 20 at work on my aphid covered dasies. I also saw a number of nymphs. It has now been a month. Aphids mostly gone. If I search I find some ladybugs. But with almost 600 released, it's not like they stay on your property. I have to be content knowing that I helped out my neighbors gardens! I would buy this product again. I feel that I am doing a little part in natural pest control.

The ladybugs arrived quickly and were alive and well, however they all flew away. They were advertised as being fed a high protein diet that would encourage them to stick around. This was definitely not the case, and my garden was COVERED in aphids and mites. I put about 1/3 of the population on my garden after sunset as instructed. They were all there in the morning. By the time I got home from work they were ALL GONE! Did the same thing the next 2 evenings with the same result. Reached out to the company and they were not helpful. They didn’t offer a refund or replacement product.

The bugs are going their thing. Be aware that if you use this in cooler seasons, you also have to order a mix of Bug food ( not offered on that site) in order to keep bugs interested on feasting at your plants.

Arrived just when I needed them, very lively... I bought 3 bags, watered in the afternoon and released in the evening. Two bags under my 3 fruit trees and one in my garden. I've used ladybugs before - but forgotten how effective they can be. A week later, I still see many of them on the fruit trees, plenty of ladybug pupa, and best of all the little buggers are making there way from bottom to top on my trees, leaving no leaf unturned, and no more bad bugs!!!

My porch container garden became infested with aphids late spring. After many not-quite-successful spray treatments, I bought these little guys. I know my ladybugs (and what look like ladybugs but aren't) and these are the garden friends we all know and love. They were shipped promptly, but I worried about them in the mail ... needlessly it seemed. They arrived packaged well in a steel mesh bag with breathing holes and swabs of water. Every single one of them was alive. I gave them water and set them loose into the garden at evening and 1 day later they're happy and still hanging around. My plants are so much happier. I love these little guys.

My rose bushes are cover in buds this year, and the buds are covered in aphids. I have treated them with commercial sprays several times this season and the aphids seemed to be getting worse. I decided to try the ladybug option, I Received them yesterday, put them out at sundown- hoping for the best. This morning upon inspection I have minimal aphids on the buds. I’m very impressed. I still see a couple ladybugs on two of the areas I checked, I dispersed them all around my yard. I’m very confident that my gardens will provide an ideal environment for them to thrive and reproduce. I am very satisfied with my decision to try this method.

There were a fair number of dead ones - maybe 20% - but the rest seemed lively enough.Instructions were clear. It didn't occur to me that it would be difficult releasing them in the dark, but, it's a little tricky. One thing they might want to do differently is that the bag is closed with a very thick, very tight staple. It took two of us 10 minutes to get it open, and we nearly stabbed ourselves with needlenose pliers multiple times. Seems unnecessary. I think they could just use a twist tie like they use on a bread bag. Also - for anybody who is thinking about using them indoors - I made a few tents and put plants inside them. The ladybugs wanted to hang out on the tent instead of on the plants, and even when I put them on top of mealy bugs, they just walked over them. So, I ended up showing them the door and will just go back to neem oil for the indoor plants.
