Beaded Chain and Cylinder

Old Tradition, Easy to Play
The African original version of the cabasa is constructed from dried pear-shaped gourds with beads strung on the outer surface. Over the years, there have been several different African and Latin versions of the instrument evolve. It is classic, timeless, and easy to play.
2 Egg Shakers Included
Other cabasa's are offered alone, ours comes with two standard egg shaker instruments. These are an ideal addition - creating a maraca sound. They fit easily in your hand and can create soft, medium, or high volume sounds - providing great support to any performance, live or studio.

The cabasa is surprisingly well-made and durable. It sounds great for professional and casual use. My special Ed students LOVE playing with it due to the sensory aspect of the sound, beads, and ease of play. The shakers however broke within two days of using them… a student was able to break it open like an egg within 1 minute of me handing it to him. Would purchase the cabasa again… not the shakers.
