About this item

  • High Performance Cat6a, 26 AWG, RJ45, Shielded Ethernet Cable provides universal connectivity for LAN network components such as PCs, computer servers, printers, routers, switch boxes, network media players, NAS, VoIP phones, PoE devices, and more
  • Cat6a performance at a Cat 5e price but with higher bandwidth; SSTP/SFTP (Screened Foiled Twisted Pair) shielding can prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reduce crosstalk noise over the Cat 6a Ethernet cable
  • A Category 6a Ethernet patch cable is also referred to as a Cat6a network cable, Cat6a cable, Cat6a Ethernet cable, or Cat 6a data/LAN cable. Future-proof your network for 10-Gigabit Ethernet (backwards compatible with any existing Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet); Meets or exceeds Category 6a performance in compliance with the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 standard
  • The shielded connectors with gold-plated contacts and strain-relief boots provide durability, and ensure a secure connection; Bare copper conductors enhance cable performance and comply with specifications for communications cables

This were purchased as a temporary measure but ended up being a permanent implementation due to the overall quality, decent thickness, of the cables, which provided fast CAT6E speed (10Gbs), the connectors was fine and a snug fit.

I feel like this was LONGER than stated because I have more than enough wire to wrap it around my room!I am able to use VR seamlessly and have fast speeds. The green light it a bit too bright but looks great. Easy to install, connects just fine to my internet/computer. The cable is quite thick! Sometimes I walk barefoot on the cord and it hurts like a lego!

This product is a good balance between quality and price. There are cheaper cables out there but I consider Cable Matters to be a reliable vendor. Be prepared for your cable run to be slightly more involved if you're using shielded cable, as it's somewhat thicker and less flexible than unshielded. And read up on shielded vs unshielded to see which is best for your use case. Shielded may be very important or needless overkill that just costs you more. But if you do need shielded cable, it's still easy to use and install, so no need to worry too much. This cable has worked well for me, and it was just the right length for my use case. They offer plenty of colors, which is nice if you need that for color-coding or matching an aesthetic if part of the run will be exposed. And the connectivity / signal quality is great, of course.

I upgraded my home internet to an advanced 1 Gig WI-FI 6 modem and router and the cable that came with the units were fine but I did not think of replacing the ethernet cable to my third generation Apple TV 4K. At first I thought my streaming unit was dying until I realized that I never replaced the cable and the old one could not handle the much faster speeds. After replacing it with this great Ethernet cable my Apple TV works even better. The Ethernet cables were so good I even decided to upgrade the ones that came with the modem and router and I needed another to run to the Roku in our bedroom so I purchased three more in different sizes. And as a big plus they were very inexpensive but worked just as good as ones that you will pay two and three times more for. I would highly recommend these Ethernet cables any time.

Using this cable to connect my Roku LT direct to my FIOS router. Is working well and seems to be good quality including pliability. Is a great deal to boot.

I have tried many other options to get my whole 1550 sq ft house covered. I have tried wireless, up to AC (the next best), i've tried powerline, i've tried wireless extenders, and access points (AP), and i've tried multiple configurations to get the best access across my whole house. I finally had to just run this gigabit line down to my basement direct from my main router. Obviously, nothing is as fast or consistent as gigabit wired, but I was hoping for a sufficient balance that was found in nothing but was closest in my AC network.I consistently get about 850 mbps transfers between my server and any devices on this line via an 8 port unmanaged gs108 switch. The best transfers I received prior to this were 585 mbps transfers via my wireless AC line. I was able to get 500 mbps transfers via a powerline adapter, and nothing close to these with other wireless configurations. In the end I didn't want to drill and run an ethernet line down from my upstairs to my basement. However, it ended up being the best solution. The only detriment I receive from this wired line is a ping average of about 32 ms versus 25 ms averages on my wireless direct route (a d-link182 NIC to a d-link dir868 router connected to my main netgear dgnd4000 modem/router). However, even w/ the ping disadvantage i'm still receiving better connections and transfer speeds. My home/home-office network is an abnormal topology. I have 2 servers (3 counting virtual), two routers, a wireless extender, two powerline extenders, a TP-Link PoE 8 port unmanaged switch, a netgear 8 port unmanaged switch, and a netgear 5 port unmanaged switch. I have 36 devices connected to my network, that runs 1 guest network, one file server/application server, one AD/exchange server, and one media server. However, utilizing this cable has greatly improved my network. I have no issues with this cable and have had little concern since implementing this cable. I have experienced NO outages, no dropped connections, no issues whatsoever. Great Cable!
