I used this in my leaf compost bin last winter in order to break it up quickly and by spring so I could compost my garden with the results. I had a wicked overflowing 5'X3'X3' bin and a huge pile of leaves to compost). I filled the bin full of leaves by spreading a cup or so of this product atop every foot or so in depth; had half the leaves left over aside the bin. Then added a foot or so of leaves and more calcium every time the bin reduced down enough. By spring it was all composted soil; It worked fine. Happy gardener.
