These filters are very straight forward, and will screw inline with your hose, so nothing special in that respect. These filters are claimed to reduce calcium deposits in your misting nozzles, which I desperately need, because I have super calcium-rich Central Florida well water. I have another filter, that does not do the job, so I'm hoping this will do the trick. I'm a bit confused by their claims that this will last 3-6 months, depending on water quality. Does that mean, if I use it for just a gallon a week, it will be ready to replace in 6 months? They should give you an idea of how much water this can filter in gallons, not months. Sometimes I'll use my mister 2 or 3 times a day, and sometimes I use it once in 2 weeks, so how long will my filter last? I don't know either, but I'll find out, and try to update this review.

I’ve got a well, and with that comes with well water. High iron, high calcium. When running my misters it results in white chalky residue left on the patio and plants. This inline filter seems to catch a lot of those minerals, resulting in a cleaner mist and healthier plants. The filter is some type of cartridge. I’ll award a fifth star when I find easy replacement filter cartridges. Good value and performance.

I have moderately hard water. I set these up for my misters and there was no difference in hard water spots on the surfaces that the misters hit.
