The Eaz-Lift ReCurve R3 is a weight distribution hitch with an 800 lb. maximum tongue weight rating that features adjustable sway control. By simply adjusting the clamp, you can decide how much sway control is exerted on the trailer. The ReCurve R3 will distribute the weight of your trailer across the axles of the tow vehicle and provide as much sway control as you choose. Or, turn the sway control completely off in dangerous or icy road conditions. Its top-loading spring bars give it more ground clearance than other hitches, and the streamlined design makes the hitch and the trailer move as one, while creating a sleek look. Includes a 2 5/16-inch hitch ball with a 15,000 lb. maximum rating.

Exactly as advertised, very easy to install with common sense and good use of tools. Manual quite easy to read and understand. A little patience may be needed. Once installed easy to use, easy hookup and easy disconnect. BE SURE to get the main bolts tightened to the 260lb torque required, or you could cause tremendous risk to yourself, your equipment or others.

Installed easy worked great in all aspects and the added ground clearance of the top mount bars was great with the minivan. Everything was level clear across the van and camper which was at about 2700lbs loaded and our family of 6 including 2 dogs in the van.

Very happy to have this on my truck/trailer! Its not intuitive to install, I had to have a friend help me figure it out. This is due to a fair amount of flexibility in the mounting so its still a great unit.I wish turning on and off the sway control didnt require a special tool that I am bound to lose eventually.

With a Ram 1500, I tow a 4500 lb 22 ft travel trailer. While the truck easily pulls the trailer, there is a considerable amount of squat in part due to the soft coil springs and occasional moments of sway at 65 mph. This hitch corrected my squatting back end and drastically reduced swaying resulting in a smoother rail-like ride. I selected this hitch because I like how the tension bars tuck right in close to the trailer frame which already has low ground clearance rather than lower like other WD hitches which would have left me only 6 or 7 in of ground clearance.

Horrible hitch. Head shift off camber when backing up or if you bump it. Had to straighten with a hammer, other wise could not connect trunnions. Springclips holding reunions unreliable. They will pop out in sharp turns. Dealer support horrible, but then all rv dealers are horrible.

This was generally an easy install. The only thing that I was warned about was mounting the part of the equalizer that mounts permanently to the tongue of the trailer. Depending on the trailer you are mounting to, the LP tanks or battery box, etc. could interfere. I downloaded the instructions from the manufacturers website and they told you how to determine placement of the brackets. That area of my trailer was clear of obstructions, so I placed the order. However, during installation, it became obvious that the measurement was incorrect. Luckily the correct area was still unobstructed, so I was able to complete the installation. The brackets on the two sides of the tongue have to be equal distance from the tongue where the hitch ball is. Although it sounds simple, it can be a bit challenging. If you are not mechanically inclined, you may want to have someone else do the install for you. After the install, there is a number of measurements as to the height of the trailer frame, front and back, as well as to the tow vehicle, front and back. This can also be a bit of a challenge, but once you have it completed, you are good from then on. You never have to make these settings again unless you have a problem due to the initial install.Once the install is completed things are great. No more chains dangling. Really a great concept. One side note: The R3 Recurve Hitch is sold complete with the equalizer bars. My understanding is that the different hitches are identical and that the only difference is weight the equalizer bars are designed to accommodate. The tongue weight of my trailer is only 250 pounds before the trailer is loaded, so I went with the hitch weight of 600 pounds. Some RV dealers suggested getting one rated higher. Their reasoning was that if I traded trailers to one with a heavier hitch weight, I would not have to replace the hitch. Two things here. 1. You only have to purchase replacement equalizer bars, not the entire hitch.2. The weight ratings are for a reason. They will affect how the trailer/tow vehicle function together. There is supposed to be some flex between the two. You might liken it to putting stiff overload springs on a small passenger vehicle. It would ride horribly. But the proper springs would ride well. The same is true of the equalizer bars. If you get ones that are rated for heavier weights (but you don't need that) your ride will be adversely affected.
