Purchased in July, 2022, but did not install until a few weeks ago ( late April, 2023). Was simple to install, showed a half charge at install and was then charged from wall socket overnight before use. Then placed into the GPS car holder, plugged into the cig adapter and left as usual. Within 3 days, the battery made the gps work fine, until using the memory during a trip, stopping the car erased the programmed trip set at restarting the car. The battery was weak or dead and would not accept a charge again, including trying from wall socket. We went ahead and purchased another battery from a different company, but the battery inside the box was the exact same one. Cameron Sino label was on the actual battery of BOTH. We'll see how this works out. It's been working now for a few days, but at least this outfit (NewPower99) says it's guarantees for up to a year. Now we've purchased two of the same at equaling 56$... a little irritating..Update as of September 30, 2024The current, replaced 2nd battery is still working perfectly. We hope it makes it through the winters here. COLD winters here. Seems like it will be fine. We'll see,,,

Arrived 3/4 charged. One of the star-headed screwdrivers fit perfectly and was nicely magnetic. I followed the directions in a youTube video that was linked to this listing. The only real problem: the tip of the plastic pry bar broke while I was using it.

Works as promised. Revitalized a formerly tethered GPS. Watch & follow the video tutorial on YouTube, and you can't go wrong. The supplied tools make the difference; otherwise, you could easily break the fragile, weathered, snap-in-place plastic GPS casing.

Frankly, I was somewhat dubious about tearing into delicate electronics that were NOT designed to be repaired, so I had put off installing a new battery in my GPS--after all, I could still plug into the cigar lighter, right? It wasn't my electronic expertise that was in question, I just hate cracked screens and bezels, and having to duct tape everything back together because all those flimsy, one-time-plastic-tabs have snapped off. I finally said "what have I got to lose" and started investigating--this kit seemed to stand out above the others in terms of quality, support and the tools to do the job. I wasn't disappointed--everything was first rate, instructions were good, and the work went smooth. I recommend this product and Seller to anyone!

This is the second replacement battery I have installed in my almost 20-year old Garmin 1490T GPS. The installation was a snap but, I had done it previously. There are numerous YouTube videos on how to replace the battery and I would suggest you watch them BEFORE you attempt to disassemble the case. It is very easy to crack the plastic frame around the unit if you are not careful. Follow the instructions to put the unit through 2 to 3 full charge/discharge cycles. According to the documentation, doing this will increase the battery life. I am in the process of doing just that, as I type this review. The tools included with the battery pack are all you need to replace the battery. I only used the yellow screwdriver and the plastic paddle to remove the plastic frame. Just take it slow and easy when removing the frame or you will crack it.

Well I have had this product for a few weeks now and finally was brave enough to take my Garmin apart and change the battery. It turned out easier then I thought. Included in the battery package was more then enough tools to easily take my Garmin apart. All I did was find a Youtube video on how to take it apart and away I went. Half hour later I was finished with a new battery. I then charged it for a few hours and it works perfectly. Very satisfied with the product.
