No need to get your face too close to the fire when cooking at camp with this stand for the skillet, pot, or kettle. Folds down flat for easy transport and storage. Secure setup with thumb screws. We have used this on a wood fire at a campground, on the Solo Stove fire pit, and in the charcoal grill, each time with great success. Even a heavy Dutch Oven or Cast Iron skillet full of food was no worry. This goes with us on every outdoor cooking adventure now.

This campfire tripod is sturdy. I like that it is easily collapsible and doesn't take up a lot of room to store. It's large enough that you could fit a cast iron Dutch oven or large fry pan on it. It's tall enough to fit over my table top fire pit which is the same size as a Solo Mesa XL. Definitely a good value for the price.

This campfire tripod for cooking is simple but effective "stove top", It is easy to set up and use and holds up well and it breaks down fast and easy. I do not know how well this will hold up over time but I would think a little brushing and oiling will keep it from rusting. Other than that I currently have know concerns or issues.Highly recommended.

I camp and I often cook over open fire. I needed to rest my cast iron skillet on something. This is perfect. It folds up so it doesn't take up a big footprint in the camping bag. It holds the cast iron skillet with stability. I don't worry about knocking this over. It also is built well and made to last. I've used it a number of times already. It doesn't take too long to cool it down after, maybe an hour for safety. I do recommend this campfire tripod.

So I feel like this is one of those things that's going to rust easily if you don't take care of it. They don't make a fireproof coating on anything that doesn't wear away. Once it burns off... well that's when it will rust if you don't take care of it. Now - that being said, it is very nice to have. It makes for a nice cooking platform over your campfire. It's small, portable and easy to use. I would just use some cooking oil every now and then to keep those joints lubricated so they fold easily.

This is just what everyone who enjoys being outdoors needs to be able to safely cook or make coffee at any spot they choose to setup camp. I've been to so many camping and fishing spots that may have a fire pit but no sturdy grate to heat things on that it's not even funny. I don't want to always drag a suitcase style camp stove with me when I'm outdoors and the backpack style stoves are great but don't hold the weight needed to cook something substantial. I want to be able to use make coffee pot and my cast iron to cook steak and eggs or some hash, not just heat water for something freezedried. With this I can easily start a small fire or setup my backpack stove and put this over it to use any cookware I choose without having to worry about it falling over due to the weight of my own or coffee pot.The 3 legs are attached with some quality stainless nuts and bolts and the best part it they have a threaded winged bolt that turns in to act as a stopper when the legs are extended which keeps them from buckling. As long as your spot is mostly level you shouldn't have any issues with this, just let it cool down before you go to grab it and put it away cuz it is metal so you would get burned.I truly recommend this to those who enjoy being outdoors and having a hot fresh cooked meal or coffee/cocoa while doing so.

This review is for the Campfire Tripod, 9.84 Inch Steel Camping Tripod for Outdoor Cooking, Foldable Fire Pit Stand with Heat Resistant Coating, Matte Black.I see I get the honor of ther very first review. So I really really love these stands! These are nice and compact if you need them portable and quick/easy to setup! They're sturdy, I like the 3 well connected curved interior metal bars as it allows you to use any size cooking stuff on them AND they''re more solidly attached than the ones with just the 3 small tabs of metal! You can use this over a wood or gas fire, use it in a firepit, use it over a little gas cooker...If you're going to be packing this for camping I would find a reuseable bag to put it in as it'll get soot on it, and you don't want to get that all over your clothes, inside a backpack...Regular price $ 22.99 per the listing and there's a 15% off coupon is ok. But there's lot's of listings for these types of things so as always watch for sales/coupons, browse listings...to find the bst deal.As always I only do honest reviews and update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.
