My neighbor. a retired professional electrician, offered to install the fan for me. I bet he wishes he had not offered to do so! The entire installation took about 2 hours with about an hour devoted to wrestling with getting that remote receiver and the wiring properly connected to the ceiling receptacle. It works fine now, but indeed the maximum fan speed is not that high.

Literally every negative review here is trying to help you out …1. Wobbles like crazy. Looks so bad / unsafe when it's turned on.2. Remote box is huge, canopy is not, so you have to jam the remote into a rat nest of wires.3. No bolts to secure to electric box fixture.4. Instructions are weird / vague. Not worth it.

Fan was easy to assemble and install. Allows for close mount or extension with all the right parts for either installation. Remote was easy to set up with the click of a button and works like a charm. Easy access light bulb with no screws allow you to change the bulb at any time without the hassle of screws. I thought the quality was going to suffer based on the price of the fan but I was surprised to see the construction quality of the fan. Easy to install for homeowners, easy matching up colored wires and placement of wires.

Ok, I purchased this even though I read the reviews and there are pretty much as many bad ones as there are good ones. But I decided to still just go for it. And it is true, this is a BIG pain in the butt to install!!!! My boyfriend is an electrician, and he's hung up a loooot of ceiling fans...but this one he was struggling with, he was getting REALLY frustrated! But I knew he could do it, and he did =) But I did not tell him, that I knew, it was going to be a pain in the butt to install this fan, LOL! And that poor guy did not only have to install this fan ONCE, but TWICE!....after he installed the first one, the light would not turn on, he tried everything, but it did not work, so I actually had to return it. You would think I should have just purchased a different fan then, BUT I just really like the Look of this fan! So I exchanged it...and he installed it last night again for the second time. And it seemed this time he was having more difficulty than the first time he installed it....but again, he was able to do it! And maybe its only because I didn't have to deal with the frustration of installing it, but I totally think it was worth it!!! I really love how it looks! And it works great, now that it's installed! =)

Completed the modern look of our living room with incredible style. In fact, put two more in bedrooms given their clean, contemporary look.I've read the negative reviews and it appears most are related to shipping/missing parts, not the fan performance. I know fans should be functional, such as providing ample speed to provide cooling, so if you want a fan that rotates at serious RPM's, this one isnt for you, Even on the highest setting it isn't going to "blast" air around the room, but it provides ample cooling. If you want a modern look at an affordable price, this is a great purchase. Only complaints are:- as with most fan installs with a remote, wiring and hiding the remote box in a very tight housing space is such a pain, but this seems to be the case with all fans I've installed through the years.- The dimmer lighting does not provide a huge amount of light, but it wasn't the reason for the purchase.Overall, very pleased with the fans.

This is a beautiful fan, and a great price.Like other reviewers have mentioned, getting the remote receiver to fit under the canopy is a real P.I.T.A. Yes, the canopy should be a bit bigger to make it easier to install the receiver.I wasn't surprised the fan speeds are "reversed" (1 being highest, 3 being lowest) as I have other things in the house made in China that are the same way.My landlord installed the fan for me, and although he followed the instructions to a "T", neither the fan nor light worked after he was finished. I called a neighbor who is an electrician over to take a look, and he immediately spotted what was wrong; as a previous reviewer mentioned, the instructions state the DIP switches on both the remote and the receiver must be set the same way. Since all the DIP switches on both the remote and receiver were already set to "0" upon receipt, we left them that way (all set to "0" on both means both are THE SAME). The electrician explained that at least one DIP switch on each MUST be set to "1", and it must be the same DIP switch on both set to "1".Once he flipped the first DIP switch to "1" on both the remote and receiver, the fan and light worked perfectly. The reason for the DIP switches is so that if you have more than one fan installed in the house (in different rooms), you can set the DIP switches for each fan and remote differently so that if you change the speed/lighting on the fan in the living room, for example, it won't change the speed/lighting of the fan in an adjacent room at the same time!Yes, I think this should have been explained in more detail in the manual, but I don't think it's a big enough issue to score down the fan, which works perfectly and looks lovely. The other thing I really like about the fan is the design is such that dust will not be as great an issue as with my old fan. The fan this one replaced was a three-light, five blade fan with pull chains for the fan speeds and lights. I use a manual wheelchair and so am not able to clean a fan myself, but even when I had someone clean it for me the chains, light shades, and blades would become covered with dust within just a couple of weeks. Everything that can be enclosed on this fan IS enclosed, which means fewer places for dust to attach. I suspect keeping this fan looking clean is going to be much easier to do!

This was a KILLER to install, it has such a small base that needs to fit all the wires and a transponder, they were very difficult to put in. Considering the base is still so much smaller than the rest of the fan/light, another inch or two on the base would still look fine and make it much easier to install. It literally took at least an extra hour because it was such a tight fit, and then after all that pushing and twisting the light part became unbalanced so it made a noise. Another hour trying to fix it by prying it apart with a screwdriver to make it even again. Also despite the relatively large size of the light cover, it only houses one bulb. So not great for actual lighting. If it housed 2 bulbs and had a 2" larger flush mount it would be a 5 star.
