I had never heard of candle toppers until I spotted these on Amazon, but I’m glad I did. We burn a jar candle for a few hours every night while watching TV, and these fix the constant problem of the wick burning a hole down the center and wasting a ton of wax.I was happily surprised to find that these are not just pressed out of metal; they’re fairly substantial cast metal, probably zinc alloy.A quick measurement confirmed what my hands told me; one of these is smaller than the other two. A digital caliper showed that two of these measure 82 mm across, while the “Leaves” topper is roughly 3 mm smaller, at 79 mm. All three of them have an inner ring that’s 72 mm.We use them with jar candles from our local asterisk-logo box store, as well as from the giant craft store with the man’s name. Even those cheaper jar candles with the very thin wicks burn so much better.I hope this helps!

These lids do a great job keeping the candle burning evenly. I always cut the wicks down before I light it. I learned the hard way, never remove the topper when trying to blow out the candle. Ouch! The topper is very very hot. The value for the price is very good. I enjoy the different patterns in the group.

We had never used one of these rings. Make a big difference in producing a clean even burn of all the contents of a 22 oz. Yankee candle. It also helps to place you candle inside a 6-8 inch crock to help keep the glass warm during the burn, especially in cooler areas. Helps produce a little more scent. No ugly sooty glass with half melted wax.
