The Canon 52mm Drop-In Circular Polarizer Filter works with Canon's super telephoto lenses. A small wheel exposed at the top of the filter allows rotation adjustment for specific lighting conditions.

Does not slide in/out very easily (feels like you're jamming it in there). I returned it for that reason alone so can't comment on quality of optics.

Like the external adjustment, use mainly when photographing birds in water, does reduce the reflections, which at times can ruin a picture.

I bought the drop=in filter for my canon 300mmf2.8is, which is a super lens without the filter. But after using the filter I fell in love with the lens all over again. I recently use it on a trip to central Florida to shoot birds in the wetlands. The filter performed perfectly. It cut the glare from the Florida sun and water and really bumped up the color in my images. I would recommend this filter to any outdoor shooter.

The filter and washer separeted, that I have to assemly it by myself. The it seems functional. I guess that is a gray market product.

Works good for a CPL for the 52mm drop in. Allows you to adjust with the thumb screw. Do use it much but handy to have when needed.
