Like all Canson photographic inkjet papers, this one is acid free, Wilhelm Institute certified to last longer than you or I probably will, and extremely bright white. The whiteness of the Edition Etching Rag is really amazing considering that it is manufactured free of optical brightening agents. Canson claims that it has the purest white tone on the market, and I can believe that after printing with it. It is so white that at first I couldn't believe it contained no optical brightening agents (fluorescing chemicals added to make materials look extra bright white, but which will eventually fade away due to UV exposure). I tested it with a UV source and it really doesn't fluoresce to get that amazing whiteness.It is a smooth thick (310-gsm) stiff matte paper intended for fine art prints. In other words, if you want this for just printing out simple snapshots, it would be a waste of money buying expensive high quality media like this. This is a museum-grade paper intended for the fine art photographic market.
