This is a nice set of tools for the price. I wasn't sure how well it would work since they were small and mostly made of plastic. But amazingly they cut right through melon easily.

This works on melons nicely, the carving tool is sharp enough that I found it easy to carve a cantaloupe with it. The cleaning tool was also easy to use and cleaned the melon out well. The melon baller works, I prefer a double ended version with two sizes though.The carver can be used on squash and pumpkins but the cleaning tool isn't strong enough to really scrape down the inside, I wish someone had a set that included a cleaning tool that I could use on those. For now I will just keep using my butter curler I guess.
