I'm a retired electronics technician. To keep myself busy I've built an electronics bench in the attic to design small circuits for the Arduino microcontroller, as well as repair all things electric/ electronics oriented that allow you to do that. Thus, I'm using spot welders like this often. This one is much more powerful than the small anemic one I've been using and I'm loving it. I especially love the foot pedal. That gives me two free hands to position exactly where I want and THEN press that pedal on the floor. That speeds up the process. There is definitely a learning curve. Because of how versatile this is compared to less expensive ones that simply can't do what this one can it's a little more sophisticated than less expensive simple spot welders. However, the manual is readable and understandable, and before long you're in business. This one allows you to fine tune the power in small steps to get the exact amount of spot welding power you need for the specific metal and thickness. Again, I really love the floor pedal switch. When connecting rows of lipo batteries together this really comes in handy. Priced at the better part of $200 it's a little pricey, but for what it does and how well it does it, it's worth every penny. If you're into electronics, building batteries, or any time you need to spot weld thin metals together, this little jewel works well and I recommend.

I really like the size. Easy to use. I got this to weld tabs into metal bowls, works great.
