It's been decades since cars came with lighters and ashtrays, leaving smokers to either avoid smoking in their car, use an open window, or seek another solution. I'd hoped this would be it. Creating an ashtray that fits securely in a typical cup holder (about the size of an 8 ounce coffee mug) was a great idea. And because it has a lid, it can help control the smell of stale cigarette butts. However...It's supposedly made of stainless steel or a steel alloy (depending on where you're reading in the description), but it all feels like hardened plastic. There's a place to rest a lit cigarette, but it's too small to fit an American cigarette. There's a small LED in the lid that lights up when opened, but it only shows the interior of the ashtray when it's partially opened (45 degrees or so) rather than when fully opened. Finally, the places where you can extinguish your cigarettes are made of ordinary plastic. All of these are potential fire hazards or dangerous while driving. If the entire product had been made of nonflammable stainless steel and the LED placed inside the container rather than in the lid, this might have been a 5-star product.

This is a little smaller than a cup holder and honestly i haven't even been keeping it in the cup holder. Ive been keeping it in the console area in front of the shifter and its been fine. The way the lid opens it kind of satisfying. You can easily open it with one hand as the little lip on the lid sticks out just enough that you can easily open it. The little light seems kind of silly but its there. It doesn't give off a lot of light but it also doesn't need to. I would almost like it to be a tad bit brighter so i could use it as a temporary flashlight if i needed to find something. But then i would also be opening it and exposing the contents while looking for something which could result in a spill.This product is top notch. I would like a bigger one that it more the size of a soda can though.

When ordering i was under the impression that this was an actual smokeless ashtray. It is not. It's a small plastic container with a lid. The wording and images used made it look like it was smokeless.

This is smaller than I thought but still fits well into the car cup holder. The lid makes it nice to contain the smell too. I really like the light because ashes don't get accidentally flipped around when driving at night.

This tiny ashtray fits perfectly in my car cupholder. It’s small, doesn’t smell, and I love the built in light. But the holder doesn’t really hold the cigarette though and it falls in. Overall I like this ashtray quite a bit.

Got this for my mom who smokes in her car. Everything about this is good except the cig holder/rest. American sized ciggs are too thick to make good use of the cig stand. You can't get enough friction in the V crevice. Also any road vibration is going to bounce your cig out. Other than that the LED light is very useful at night. If you smoke USA sized cigs and don't care for the cig rest than this has everything you need i think. The grated panel on the opposite side of the cig rest makes it easy to put out a cig "cleanly" so you can continue later.

It does what It supposed to do. This is a decent ashtray. I really like the light and the ease with which it opens. It fits nicely in my cup holder. The only issue is that the cig does not sit well in the tray…
